Branston Locks Primary and Nursery School is closed today (Friday 9th January) due to the adverse weather conditions.
Having assessed the site and the local area and observed advice from the met office, we have made this decision to ensure the safety of all staff, pupils and families.
Children should spend the day exploring the snow and enjoying it! Then, once they are warm they can practise their spellings, read their reading books and play Numbots.
We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday 12th January.

We have officially launched Numbots at Branston Locks this week. We love playing the game to help practise our Maths fluency and help Rusty upgrade!

We welcomed mums, grandmas, aunties, carers and all those who fulfil the role of a mother into school for a delicious afternoon tea style lunch. It was such a lovely event, there were huge smiles all round and the cakes were delicious!

Branston’s newest primary school is now officially open! On Friday 31st January, Branston Locks Primary and Nursery School was officially opened by Director General of Regions Group for the Department for Education, John Edwards.
Guests enjoyed a tour of the school, refreshments and a fantastic musical performance from pupils – who later
enjoyed balloons and refreshments with their parents and staff at the end of the school day.

We’ve achieved our Bronze Rights Respecting Schools Award from UNICEF! This shows that we are committed to the rights of the child, as agreed by the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.

Lyra is our new school dog. She is a cockapoo, who was born in October 2024; her mum is a cocker spaniel called Evie and her dad is a poodle called Reggie.
