Monday 2nd June-Friday 18th July
Note: INSET Friday 4th July
We know that children get poorly sometimes and need time away from school to recover. However, attendance is really important and if your child’s absence dips below 97%, you may be asked to attend meetings, or you could even be fined.
Pupils are entitled to one day’s absence per year for religious observance.
Please see the school’s Attendance Policy and Procedures for more information and refer to the helpful guide below to decide if your child is too ill to attend.
Please call the school office before 8.30am if your child is not coming into school—you will need to let us know your child’s name, their class and what the issue is.
Please call on every day of your child’s illness to inform us of their absence.
Gates open at 08:30am
Please escort your child to their classroom door and collect from the Nursery/Reception playground.
If you will be late to pick a child up, please contact the office as soon as you can. This should only be in exceptional circumstances.
If a parent/carer is more then ten minutes late, the child will be placed into wraparound and a charge made for that session.
During the morning session, cereal, toast and juice will be available.
During afternoon session 1, the children will be given a snack such as fruit, yoghurt or cereal bar.
During afternoon session 2, the children will be given a light meal such as a sandwich, soup or beans on toast.
Please make sure ALL uniform is clearly named.
All children must bring a pair of wellies into school – these will stay in school and be used for outdoor learning in our Forest Area. Puddle suits will be provided by school.
Bags:
Jewellery must not be worn to school, with the exception of when a child has their ears pierced.
Earrings must be small, plain studs which will need to be removed or covered when the child does PE.
A simple watch is allowed, but smartwatches must not be worn.

We expect all children in Reception to have their Universal Free School meal. Mellors (our catering company) will always make sure the children have something to eat, even if they are sometimes a bit fussy! Nursery children who attend Session 1 have the option of purchasing a meal for £2.78 per day. Lunch menus will be available on our website and children will pre-order their meal.
Children should bring a water bottle with a sports cap lid into school. Please put your child’s name on the bottle.
The bottle must only contain plain water.
The children will be provided with fruit and milk during snack time. This is free of charge.
You are welcome to send your own snack in for snack time, but this must be fruit or a healthy alternative such as cucumber sticks.
Due to some children having severe allergies, please do not bring nuts, or products containing nuts into school.
We know how important it is for children to have experiences outside of school. That is why we have tried to organise clubs for children that are great fun and appeal to a range of interests.
Information about clubs will be sent out in September. Where we use outside providers, or we need to buy extra resources for clubs, a small charge will be payable by parents/carers.
Keep an eye out for our September clubs, coming soon!
