Our governors volunteer to work strategically with the school and the headteacher (Mrs Bryant) to ensure high standards are met. Governors meet every half term and the headteacher reports directly to them about what has been happening in school. It is the governors’ role to question, support and challenge the leadership and management, whilst supporting the whole school in its development.
The role of a governor is explained in this short film:
A word from the Chair of Governors, Mr Jake Fellows
Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
Thank you for joining and being part of our family at Branston Locks Primary & Nursery School. On behalf of the entire governing board, I wish you every success during your time at our wonderful school. As a new and growing school, we depend on you to embed our values of Respect, Kindness, Inclusion, Responsibility, Never Giving Up and Aspiration – all of which is underpinned by our culture of openness and working together, in partnership between parents/ carers, children, our staff, the governors and the PTA, to achieve success for every child.
I welcome your suggestions and feedback on your experiences and performance of the school – please feel free to contact me or any other governor.
Kind regards,
Jake Fellows – Chair of Governors
Our Governing Body
As our wonderful school grows, our governing body will grow too until we have a board of 12-14 governors. If being a governor is something that interests you and you would like to be considered as a governor in future years, please let us know.

The PTA is a great chance to get involved in the school community. You can give as much, or as little time as you can, knowing that every penny we raise goes straight back into our school. There are so many benefits to being part of our PTA.
We aim to build a really strong community of like minded individuals and families, who know how to have some fun and raise some cash for our growing school.
Joining the PTA is a great opportunity to get to know the school really well, make new friends and have fun! Come and speak to Mrs Fry in the school office if you think you can volunteer a little (or a lot!) of your time to Branston Locks PTA.
Watch this video to give you a better idea of what a PTA is and how you could be part of it.
